It Hurt Me When Bartlet was weighing his Options -- Arrows Chairman

Mato Madlala was on the Chairman's chair on Thursday edition of 083 Sports with Marawa, a weekly Sports show on Metro Fm. The question on almost every South African soccer fan was what happened between her and Shaun Bartlet, an event which saw the latter not remaining as a Golden Arrows Coach ,after he help them in regaining an immediate promotion to the Absa Premier Soccer League after just spending a season in the NFD. The Abafan Besthend Chairman reflected that she was hurt and dissapointed by Bartlet going on National radio saying that he hasn't made a decision to Coach Arrows in the PSL and he is still weighing his options. She put it in her words by saying "When he made that statement, it was a time that I hadn't offered him a contract yet, so he was within his rights." She continued "I raised it with him in a private conversation that I was not happy" . Madlala went on to appoint Former Bafana assistant Serame Letsoaka as the New head Coach of Golden Arrows, but played down the rumors that she intended on firing Bartlet on the go,"I only approached Serame after my meeting with Shaun, and if something positive came out of the meeting , I would have probably given Shaun a chance and more support with a bigger budget". She also reflected on her exprience in the NFD, "Its an everyday fight in the NFD,everymatch is a fight, its difficult to survive and also the budget is very small". Madlala said that her objectives this season is to finish in a decent position after securing loan deal for few quality players. She said finishing in the top 8 would be a bonus but it will be excelent. Her everyday worries are results she said and she also warned us to watch out of youngsters and new talent coming out of Golden Arrows.
